File-Naming Timesaver for Mac Users

This particular tip is really more for Macintosh users because Mac users don’t have to add file name extensions to their files, unless they’re creating Web graphics. Because of that reason, many Mac users disable Photoshop’s preference that automatically adds a file name extension to their files. Even though that’s the case, when Mac users are creating Web graphics, it’s important to include the .gif or .jpg file names, but the good news is—you don’t have to turn on the auto file extension feature—just hold the Option key as you choose your file format from the Save As dialog box, and Photoshop will then add the appropriate .gif or .jpg file extension to your Web graphics files.
